Oh my goodness did this session make my heart explode. Friends, meet the Schapperles! Cameron and I had the privilege of getting to know this awesome couple through his job and they even allowed us to go sailing with them last summer! These two are such cool parents. Kara and Brian have a ultra mod home that was so much fun to photograph in. Their was nautical elements throughout the home and nursery that were so sweet and suited their coastal lifestyle perfectly.
Stillwell (he goes by Wells), was only three weeks old when we did this session. It was amazing to be next to this little babes soft demeanor and I loved helping him fall asleep so that I could get some fun shots of him with some of my props. As a lifestyle photographer, I love to capture families in their element and naturally interacting with one another. It creates a realistic documentary kind of session that shows real memories. In a way it is a “peak” into your world at this time in your life. I also love to have some fun props with me as well to help the little one sit up in a safe way that allows me to capture the details of his/hers body. It’s special. Real special…and I love getting to be with families even for just a few hours to capture this through my camera lens.
Do you have a newborn on the way? Or perhaps you have a growing family that you would love to get some updated portraits of? My approach is to photograph you in your element with your loved ones as If I wasn’t there. We will of course get some solid portrait shots of everyone smiling at the camera as well, but those real life moment shots are the ones that tend to capture the heart the most.
